About Us

Stone Vos began business in 2006 sewing shade screens and then slide toppers out of a necessity in a pull behind trailer while Ingrid Balsters and Chris Throgmartin were living in their diesel pusher located in a RV resort.  

In 2009 they moved to a house and set up shop in the garage.  

Many big changes occured in 2016 when Ingrid left teaching  high school math and became the lead operator taking over sales, production and shipping(and just about everything else).  

By 2019 Stone Vos moved to a 4,000 square foot building in the heart of downtown Brooksville, Florida.  During the COVID crisis, another 2 companies were formed of which one was a real estate holding company and a RV service company. 

After parting ways with Chris in 2024, Ingrid became solely reponsible for Stone Vos and has worked hard ever since expanding awning and slide topper offerings and building an expanding dealer network in the process.  

Many people ask where the Stone Vos name came from.  The name is an almagamation of Chris' paternal granmother's last name "Stone" and Ingrid's paternal grandmother's last name "Vos".    They were both upstanding, loving women who valued love of family & a higher power above all .  It showed in everything they did. 

The products Stone Vos produces are a reflection of the quality of  these 2 grandmother's dedication to all they believed is true about the world - that love is utmost in everything you do. 

Tom started at Stone Vos in July of 2017 and has been an integral part of the sew shop since then. He is now the shop manager and directs the production schedule.

Before coming to us Tom did many varied jobs including truck driving, upholstery at a RV dealership, awning installer, forklift driver, mill worker.

Tom has many talents, including woodworking. He made this patchwork display out of trapezoids, which he sanded, painted and then pieced all together. He has an incredible eye for detail.

Ingrid has worked full time at Stone Vos since 2016 but established the business in 2006 with her ex-partner Chris Throgmartin.  

 Other than taking care of a growing business Ingrid likes outdoor activities such a kayaking, plein air painting and taking her dogs RV'ing with her Airstream and enjoys creative pursuits such as knitting and cooking for herself and friends.
