There are several determining factors when deciding to install new awnings or toppers.
1. When you find that the topper or awning has pulled away from your RV and may only be attached to the RV with set screws, the thread used by other manufacturers has disintegrated due to the weather conditions over time.
2. The material used in the awnings/toppers will eventually experience "dry rot" whereby the material's tensile strength is decreased over time. Restitching is advised only if the material has not dry rotted and you are removing and installing yourself (mainly due to the added expense of hiring a technician to do it). When reusing previously installed slide toppers and/or awnings if the material is restitched it must be able to withstand having thousands of new holes made by the needle punching through.
3. When you hear a loud "BANG" out of nowhere and realize it's from the slide out topper hardware and not someone firing a shotgun next to your RV, it's either the slide topper material that has weakened and torn apart or the thread has rotted and given way.
4. When the patio awning develops openings in the swaths of material originally sewn together, the thread has rotted and disintegrated.
There are several reasons to name a few.
1. We have a 10 year warranty on our awnings and slide out toppers and although our products cost more up front, you will find as you add up the cost of buying new toppers and paying for someone to install those every 5 years or less it is better value over time to go with Stone Vos products.
2. The maintenance with Stone Vos products is less over time. They hold their shape and they protect your hardware and coach better over time. We recommend you use 303 Aerospace products to extend the life of your awnings and slide toppers.
3. We use the highest quality materials such as CoachGuard acrylic which has Teflon embedded and coated fibers. Our Migliore is a poured PVC onto and through a ripstop base making it impossible to peel like laminated vinyls do. The ripstop base makes Migliore very strong so it will withstand the hardest weather conditions including gale force winds and hurricanes.
4. We use Solarfix Teflon thread which is not affected by UV rays or any weather conditions. In fact the Solarfix thread will last longer than any material it's stitched on, that's what's called a lifetime warranty because the thread is warranted for the life of the material it's stitched on.
5. We make all of our products in Brooksville, Florida and we don't subcontract any work because we want to make sure it is produced to the highest of standards and have stringent controls in place for how that work is done and how it is checked.
We do not provide an installation service at this time.
We have a dealer network of qualified and experienced RV technicians on our website under "Dealer Network" and we are happy to suggest ways to find someone in your area. We can ship directly to your favorite service provider also if that is your request.
Some things to ask a potential RV service center writer or technician before commencing the installation are but not limited to:
1. Have you installed replacement fabrics on this make & model of hardware before? How much experience do you have?
2. What is your charge? Do you flat rate the installation? Do you charge an hourly rate? Do you charge that rate for each technician or assistant?
3. How long can I expect the installation to take?
4. Are you a mobile service technician or will I have to bring my RV to you?
5. Do you make sure to make hardware adjustments such as setting the limiter switch on my lateral arm patio awning hardware? Do you test the hardware several times after you have done the installation such as running the slide in and out to make sure the topper is properly situated? Do you make sure the set screws are properly in place?
5. How long is your warranty should the installation have problems?
6. How do I resolve any issues should there be a problem?
We charge Florida sales tax as assessed by what county the order is delivered to and when the order is picked up from our production facility.
The customer is responsible for paying the tax
